IOM conducts capacity training on Communications and Safe Migration
Savannakhet – On 16-18 August 2022, The International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted a capacity training on the topics of “Communications, and Safe Migration” for the staffs of the Sengsavang Association in Kaysone Phomvihan District, Savannakhet Province.
The capacity building training for Communications and Safe migration was implemented for 3 days during 16th - 18th August 2022 at Sengsavang meeting room. The training was provided to Sengsavang Association, the IOM’s co-implementation partner, as one of the Project of Protection and Service for Vulnerable Settlement, Migrants and Youth for Savannakhet and Champasack Province” under United Nations Joint Program.
The purposes of the training are to increases partner’s capacity in term of communication skills and fundamental knowledge including photography, content creation, graphic design, and safe migration as this training is one of the capacity building activities of the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion Unit at International Organization for Migration in Lao’s People Democratic Republic in providing capacity building training to our development partners with the aim to achieve the shared goals.
The training has been run successfully. Through the training, all participants have developed their knowledge and skills of communication using the rules of camera and application for graphic design both photos and videos which will be beneficial for SSV’s visibility in promotion of their organization through social media platforms. Moreover, the knowledge of migration has played the role that does
not only benefit SSV’s staffs who are working with migrants but also migrants who are under the skill development training programs.
